To ensure the best tutoring experience for you (or your child), I ask that you read and understand the following
Terms of Service.
- Learning is a process. It takes time, effort AND consistency to improve. Please arrive on time for each session, prepared to learn and stay until the end of your scheduled time.
- Learning requires concentration. Please silence any cell phones/pagers or any other distractions. I understand that you may need to remain available in case of emergency but please limit any conversations/texting to emergency only (this is applicable to online sessions as well). Any session interrupted more than once by telephone/text/friends stopping by etc. is subject to forfeiture and billing as a cancellation.
- Homework is just that – HOMEWORK. I abide by rules of academic honesty and I will not help with take home quizzes/tests. Occasionally, I will help with a particularly difficult problem but our goal is to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence for independent work. For Homework Help: Students must work on homework problems PRIOR to meeting and come prepared with questions.
- Your involvement is critical and expected. I recommend that we confer once every 4-6 sessions (or as necessary) to discuss progress and assess our current strategy. I welcome all suggestions and comments so do not hesitate to alert me to any concerns. The best outcome will result from teamwork.
- Please honor any payment arrangements/agreements by paying promptly. For your convenience, I accept cash or credit/debit cards. Checks accepted with permission only from established clients (5+ visits)
- If other commitments will prevent you from scheduling or keeping regular appointments, please notify me as soon as possible. This helps me plan appropriately and opens my schedule to help other students.
- The tutor/tutee relationship is AT-WILL and lessons will continue until a mutually agreed conclusion. Either party may end the relationship for any reason at any time with notice.
NO Statement of Guarantee – There is no way to guarantee any academic outcome as there are many external factors involved. I will endeavor to ensure that every student makes satisfactory progress, however the rate of progress cannot be guaranteed. The student/parent has a right to terminate tutoring services at any time.
