Attending sessions with Math Tutor Tj is not homework help or an after 
school activity; it’s similar to having a private math instructor in a classroom of one. Learning math one-on-one can transform your view of mathematics.
I don’t teach students to “just get through it” nor do I promote “learning just enough to pass”. Students who work with me learn not only how to do math but also how to understand and apply it.
Why is this important? Doesn’t the school do enough?
In most classrooms, sessions are centered on the teacher. He or she leads the class, sets the pace and decides when it’s time to move on. In larger classrooms, students can easily lose focus and miss important concepts.
Individualized sessions are student centered and enable students to cover important concepts at a pace personalized for them. During Math Tutor Tj sessions, students are challenged to think and discover how to work through problems. Students not only learn how to do ONE problem, they learn how to apply that knowledge to other kinds of problems they’ll encounter. This fosters those long term competencies that build math confidence.
